Some facts about Rabbits: A baby rabbit is called a fawn. A female rabbit is called a doe. A male rabbit is called a buck. A mother rabbit makes a nest for her own fur for her babies. Baby rabbits are born with no fur and are blind and helpless. The ears of the English Lop may grow more than 2 ft long. There are over 40 breeds of rabbits. Wild rabbits live throughout the world. The fur of the Angora Rabbit is spun into yarn. Many rabbits are used for show and as pets. Some popular breeds are Dutch, Holland Lop, Mini Rex, Netherland Dwarf and Satin. For shows judges rate them on size, shape and the quality and color of their fur. Lop breeds are rabbits with floppy ears. Rabbits have acute senses and hearing. |
