CEF Fall Weekend Events

FALL SCHEDULE of WEEKEND EVENTS

Available daily: Petting farm, hayrides, pony rides, Cow Train, play areas, picnic area, and country store. ENCHANTED FOREST attractions throughout farm. Also visit our exciting ENCHANTED FOREST MAZE, a world of twists and turns in our pine tree maze filled with ENCHANTED FOREST treasures. Birthday parties and tours also available.

Below is an example of the activities we provide during the Fall season:

TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS JUNE 7 thru AUGUST 11 2011: LUNCH TIME with MOTHER GOOSE--- STORY TIME and CRAFTS . Bring your lunch and eat it at the farm, then at 12:30 PM, come sit with our own Mother Goose, Ms. Trish, and share a special story about your favorite farm animals and storybook characters. Then your children will do a fun craft project to take home.

SEPTEMBER 3-4 GRANDPARENTS WEEKEND! All grandparents accompanied by a child get free hayrides. Come with your children and grandchildren and see the Enchanted Forest attractions you remember.

SEPTEMBER 10-11 GEM MINING & GEODE CRACKING WEEKEND! Mobile Mining Experience will host a special geode cracking program (Advanced registration is required) from 9 AM to 11 AM on both Sat and Sun. Visit www.mobileminingexperience.com for more information about the program and how to register. Standard gem mining and geode cracking will be available for all visitors from 10 AM to 4 PM (both days).

SEPTEMBER 17-18 FARM-CITY CELEBRATION WEEKEND. Get a jump start on Howard County’s Farm-City Celebration by joining us Saturday morning between 8 AM and 9:30 AM for our Family Farm Walk. Walk the hayride path (before we start up the hay wagons) and visit stations along the way to learn about healthy living, farms, food, and more. Co-sponsored with the University of Maryland Extension.

SEPTEMBER 24*****PUMPKIN PATCH OPENS*****NOVEMBER 6

Come get your pumpkins every day from Sept 24 through November 6. Every day you can enjoy the petting farm and all the Enchanted Forest attractions,the Enchanted Forest Pine Tree Maze, our play areas and country store. On the weekends you can also enjoy facepainting and CJ’s Pit Beef.

SEPTEMBER 24-25 PUMPKIN COLORING AND CRAFT ACTIVITIES WEEKEND! To celebrate opening our PUMPKIN PATCH, we will have fun coloring and craft activities for the kids. Join in the fun and see what great pictures and crafts you can create. Facepainting and CJ's Pit Beef, too.

OCTOBER 1-2 TEDDY BEAR FARM VISIT Bring teddy bears! Free hayrides for all children who bring a Teddy Bear. Join in the Teddy Bear Contest at 1 PM and 3 PM Saturday and Sunday. Folk singing with TONY MCGUFFIN Noon to 4 PM both days. Facepainting and CJ's Pit Beef, too.

OCTOBER 8-9 PUMPKINS, PUMPKINS, PUMPKINS! Come to get your Halloween pumpkins. Hayrides pony rides, and cow train rides. A great Fall outing for the family. Facepainting and CJ's Pit Beef, too.

OCTOBER 15-16 SCALES AND TALES! We will have a display presented by the Maryland Dept of Natural Resources featuring birds of prey and reptiles on Saturday from 12 noon to 2 PM. Facepainting, CJ's Pit Beef and all our wonderful rides to enjoy and the Enchanted Forest Pine Tree Maze to explore.

OCTOBER 22-23 Fall Fun GEM MINING AND GEODE CRACKING WEEKEND! Take advantage of special gem mining and geode cracking combo discount Trancas Geodes Split packages from 10 AM until noon (or the first 40 participants, whichever comes first). With this special combo package, you will get a bucket of the very popular “Gemstone Miner” enriched ore (averages nearly a pound of finds!) to search thru on the gem flumes and a small geode (Trancas or Moroccan) to crack on our custom made geode cracking machines for only $14.00! Standard gem mining and geode cracking will be available from 10 AM to 4 PM. CJ's Pit Beef, too.

OCTOBER 29-30 HALLOWEEN and GEM MINING WEEKEND. Costume Contests at 11 AM and 2 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. Facepainting. Cider and pumpkins at our country store. Take a hayride to the pumpkin patch!! Pumpkins galore!! C.J.’s Pit Beef, too. Facepainting, pony rides and cow train rides also available. Also this will be the last weekend for gem mining activities for 2011. As part of the end of the season celebration, Mobile Mining Experience will have some big surprises in store for those brave enough to search through their enriched ore in what is sure to be some pretty chilly water. But it will be worth it, because there will be more than just minerals and gemstones to be found!!

NOVEMBER 5-6 PUMPKIN CHUCKING WEEKEND. In the spirit of the season, let’s have some special fun with pumpkins!! We have a special catapult that will launch your pumpkin across the farm. Bring your own pumpkin and let’s see how far it will go! C.J.’s Pit Beef, too.
