 2009 SCHEDULE of WEEKEND EVENTS

Available daily: petting farm, hayrides, pony rides, Enchanted Forest attractions and MAZE, play areas and playground, picnic area, and country store. Birthday parties and Tours also available.

New for 2009:  Come visit our exciting New ENCHANTED FOREST PINE TREE MAZE.

Enter a world of twists and turns in our 1 ¼ acre pine tree maze filled with great new Enchanted Forest treasures.  Use our Maze Guide and Activity Book to enhance your exploration of the MAZE.  Fun for everyone! 

TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS  from JUNE 23 through SEPTEMBER 17, 2009: 

MOTHER GOOSE STORY TIME. Each Tuesday and Thursday throughout the summer at 10:30 AM, come sit with our own Mother Goose and share a special story at the farm with your favorite farm animals and storybook characters. We will offer entertaining storybook times with books on animals, storybook characters, nursery rhymes and fairy tales to the delight of children.

 

SEPTEMBER 19-20  COLORING AND CRAFT ACTIVITIES WEEKEND! We will have fun coloring and craft activities for the kids.  Join in the fun and see what great pictures and crafts you can create!!

SEPTEMBER 26-27  FARM-CITY CELEBRATION WEEKEND.   Join us Saturday as we have our first annual Healthy Farm Walk. Each participating family will be given an Enchanted Forest Pine Tree Maze Guide. Enjoy walking through the maze looking for answers to the questions. We will also have information provided by the Howard County Health Department on healthy living. Our PUMPKIN PATCH opens this weekend. Pick your pumpkin for Fall decorating. Facepainting.  On Sunday, we will host a Volksmarch sponsored by the Columbia Volksmarch Club. The walk will include Centennial Park and the petting farm.  C.J.’s Pit Beef, too.

OCTOBER 3- 4  TEDDY BEAR FARM VISIT  Bring teddy bears! Free hayrides for all children who bring a Teddy Bear.  If you bring your own Teddy Bear, you can participate in the Teddy Bear Contest at 1 PM and 3 PM Saturday and Sunday. Or you can bring a NEW Teddy Bear and donate it to the Pediatric Department of the Howard County General Hospital.  Folk singing with TONY MCGUFFIN Noon-4 PM both days.   Facepainting and C.J.’s Pit Beef, too.

OCTOBER 10-11   ANIMALS, ANIMALS, ANIMALS! We will have some new and different animals to see. On Saturday we will be hosting a “Scales and Tales” display from 12 pm until 2 pm. Also, visit the pumpkin patch, get your face painted, see the great Enchanted Forest attractions and enjoy our maze.  C.J.’s Pit Beef, too.

OCTOBER 17-18   PUMPKINS and AUTHORS!  Come to the pumpkin patch to get your Halloween pumpkins. On Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM, a special book signing by Debbie Reece, author of The Christmas Pumpkin. Come check out this lovely holiday story. On Sunday Brian Aylaian, author of “The Ghost that liked Burnt Toast,” will sign books from 10 AM to 2 PM.  You can also take a hayride, take a pony ride, and get your face painted. A great Fall outing for the family.   C.J.’s Pit Beef, too.                                                                      

OCTOBER 24-25  HARVEST CELEBRATION.  A great weekend to celebrate the beauty of Fall on our farm.  Pick a pumpkin, take a hay ride, enjoy a pony ride, get some cider and facepainting.   C.J.’s Pit Beef, too. 

OCTOBER 31-NOVEMBER 1  HALLOWEEN WEEKEND. Costume Contests at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM  on Saturday.  Prizes for all.  Facepainting. Cider and pumpkins at our country store.  Take a hayride to the pumpkin patch!!  Pumpkins galore!!   C.J.’s Pit Beef, too.                                                                 

 NOVEMBER 7-8:  PUMPKIN CHUCKING WEEKEND.  In the spirit of the season, let’s have some special fun with pumpkins!!  We have a specially-designed catapult that will launch your pumpkin across the farm.  Bring your own pumpkin and let’s see how far it will go!  C.J.’s Pit Beef, too.
